Bridget Tan, Founder and CEO of HOME lived a life as though everything is a miracle. Her faith in God and her love for His people moved her to become 'Sister' to the stranger in need. For her living this mission, she has been recognised only for the people whom she served beyond self.

Bridget’s leadership of HOME has also gained recognition for the organization.

2004

Banaag Award

The President of the Philippines, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo presented her the award at the Malacanang Palace for her services to Overseas Filipino Workers in Singapore.

Nobel Peace Prize

Nobel Peace Prize Nominee for the 1000 Peace Women Across the Globe.

2006

Appointed as General Councilor/Group Coordinator for the Lay Scalabrinian Missionary Movement (Asia Pacific)

Elected to be the General Councilor/Group Coordinator by the General Government of the worldwide Lay Scalabrinian Missionary Movement in 26 countries.

Award of Appreciation

The Ambassador of the Royal Thai Embassy presented her the award on the occasion of the birthday of the Thai monarch.

2009

Appointed Treasurer of CARAM Asia

Elected at a General Assembly 2009 to the Board of Directors and appointed as Treasurer of CARAM Asia. CARAM Asia with thirty four member organizations spanning seventeen countries has been working on Coordinated Action Research on AIDS and Mobility for the last ten years. It is an NGO in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.

2010

Asian of the Year 2010 Honourable Mentions

Every year, the editors of the various Asian editions of Reader’s Digest get together to find someone who best embodies the contemporary expression of Asian Values and who works to shape the future of Asia in a positive manner. Her story will be featured in the January 2010 in English, Mandarin, Indonesian, Korean and Thai.

HOME was awarded Asia Public Service Award by the Asia 21 Society. The award even was held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

2011

Change Makers Around the World

Bridget Tan was featured in a blog – Lady in the Mirror, that ran a series featuring “Change Makers Around the World”.

TIP Hero Award

Each year, the Department of State honors individuals around the world who have devoted their lives to the fight against human trafficking. These individuals are NGO workers, lawmakers, police officers, and concerned citizens who are committed to ending modern slavery. Among those recognised is Bridget Tan, President of the Humanitarian Organization for Economics. Bridget has been invited to Washington D.C. for the release of the annual Trafficking in Persons Report during the week of June 20, 2011.

2012

Woman of the Year Award

Bridget Tan wins the Media Corp’s ‘Woman of the Year Award’ together with two other winners.

In September 2012, HOME was a joint winner for the Most Innovative Non Profit/Social Enterprise awarded by the Singapore Venture Capitalist & Private Equity Association.
