The Body Shop
From the outset, our late Founder Dame Anita Roddick always believed that the sole purpose of business was to put justice and sustainability at the heart of everything a business does. With the success of The Body Shop Anita proved that a company could still make a profit without losing its human face, its sense of soul and its social conscience, as well as being a tireless advocate for making positive changes in society.
Today, The Body Shop is a multinational company with over 2,500 stores trading in more than 20 different languages, and selling more than 1,200 products. Across the world, in the more than 60 countries that it operates in, The Body Shop is powered by Dame Anita’s passionate belief that business can be fun, and that it can be conducted with compassion and be a powerful force for good.
Given the extent and breadth of activities and programme that The Body Shop undertakes within its business around the world, it is clear that Corporate Social Responsibility means much more than the act of philanthropy and the sponsorship of charity galas. More importantly, The Body Shop is committed to the long-term development of the communities in which it operates, as well as to the protection of the environment, upon which it depends for the naturally inspired ingredients that go in to its products.
The Body Shop Foundation has been in support of HOME and their work since 2006. We continue to do so today and believe in their every effort to help ease the difficulties of the countless migrant workers who have left the security of their homes in search of a better life. |
