HOME’s volunteers hail from diverse backgrounds

HOME’s volunteers hail from diverse backgrounds: locals as well as expatriates, migrant workers, working professionals in the fields of business development, software technology, law, social work, marketing and communications, as well as academia, retirees as well as students. Based on their experiences and availability, our HOME volunteers provide programs and services such as English Language classes, vocational skills training, sports and recreation as well as health education seminars at the HOME Academy and at the HOME Shelter. Our volunteers also provide counselling and legal support to the migrant worker community at our various Help Desks. Some of the work we do requires volunteers being available in the day time during office hours, other jobs require volunteers to contribute their time on the weekends. We do however request that our volunteers commit to the organisation for a minimum of six months in order to understand HOME and how we function and in order to gain the trust of the migrant workers we serve.

HOME conducts Volunteer Information Sessions once a month, where we introduce our organisation to potential volunteers and give details on the positions we need filled for volunteer work. Our next session will be on Wednesday, November 9th at 8pm at our office at Grandlink Square, located at 511 Guillemard Road, #01-06, Grandlink Square, S(399849). Nearest MRT station: Paya Lebar MRT.
