Good to bless and be blessed!
Way back last year 2009, we were among the many victims of a scam in Singapore.
We met a man who offered jobs at Sentosa Resort. He said that he needed lots of people
and he could offer jobs for janitors and chambermaids. What we needed to do was to
recommend friends and relatives. We would pay only the processing fee of $800 to $1000
per person. He promised us that when our relatives arrive in Singapore, they would start
work by the second week of January 2010.
Months and days went by but there were no jobs and our relatives were waiting till late
December. Then we realized that it was a scam...What a shame that our relatives and
friends were waiting for nothing, we were so disappointed. We did not know what to do
and how to explain to our fellow victims.
We went to HOME. for help. HOME provided us a pro bono lawyer to help us make a
police report. The man has been arrested and would be charged for cheating. We are now
help-desk volunteers to support HOME and serve our fellow migrant workers. It is really
good to ”bless and be blessed”.
Sister Bridget, thanks for helping us migrant workers -
GOD BLESS HOME!
