H.O.M.E. believes that a key strategic action to combating trafficking and exploitation is the empowerment of migrant men and women with skills for employability and livelihood development.
1) Vocational skills training: IT, language, and care giver`s classes
2) Workshops for migrant workers on labour laws and legal rights
CyberHome (IT Learning Centre)
In 2006, HOME was given a grant by Microsoft`s Unlimited Potential Program as part of Microsoft`s effort to combat human trafficking in the region. The grant was used to set up two centres to provide basic IT education for migrant workers. Internet application, MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint form the basis of the curriculum. A cyber cafe has also been set up at our Katong Centre to provide internet services for migrant workers at affordable rates.

Legal Rights Workshops/Seminars
What are my employer`s obligations should I get injured while at work? Am I allowed to help out at my employer`s sister`s house?
These are some of the questions that we address in our workshops and seminars for migrant workers.
Navigating through bureaucratic procedures and laws may be an uphill task for many. Our workshops provide information on employment issues/laws for workers in an easy to understand format.
