1.     License to use website

1.1   Subject to the license below, unless otherwise stated, the Humanitarian Organisation for Migration Economics (“HOME”) reserves all intellectual property rights to this website and content on this website.

1.2   Content from this website may be viewed, downloaded, printed or otherwise stored for personal use, subject to the restrictions set out below and elsewhere in these terms and conditions.

1.3   Content on this website must not be reproduced, duplicated, copied or otherwise exploited for a commercial purpose or any other profit; edited or otherwise modified; used in any way that causes, or may cause, damage to the website, or in connection with any unlawful, illegal, fraudulent or harmful purpose or activity, or to transmit unsolicited commercial communications; or for any other purposes related to marketing.

2.1   HOME makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, in relation to the reliability of this website or the information and materials provided on this website. 

2.2   Subject to and to the extent permitted by the law applicable from time to time, HOME disclaims all civil liability in relation to the content or use of this website; including but not limited to liability for any losses, direct or otherwise, of whatsoever nature, arising out of any errors, of any nature and origin, in the content of this website.

2.3   Limitations of liability set out in this website disclaimer protect HOME and its officers, employees, agents, subsidiaries, successors and assigns.


3.   Privacy

3.1.1 Personal data of visitors to this website, including but not limited to their name, NRIC, passport or other identification number, telephone number(s), mailing address, email address, and payment related information, such as bank account or credit card information (“Personal Data”), is collected when

a)   visitors indicate interest in volunteering, partnering or engaging with or otherwise contributing to HOME,

b)  visitors request to be included in any email, newsletter or other mailing list,

c)   donations are made, or

d)  Personal Data is submitted by any means for any other reason;

3.1.2  and for the following purposes (“Authorised Purposes”), to which visitors who have submitted Personal Data are taken to have consented, unless HOME has been expressly and specifically notified to the contrary:

a)  responding to visitors’ queries, requests or other communications,

b)  coordinating activity of volunteers, staff and partners,

c)  managing the operations of HOME, or

d)  other purposes relating to any of the above.

3.2   Submission of the Personal Data of third parties constitutes representation that the third parties’ relevant consent has been obtained.

3.3   HOME may furnish Personal Data to

a)   contractors or agents who supply operational services to HOME,

b)  HOME’s professional advisors,

c)   relevant government agencies to comply with any laws or rules and regulations imposed by authority under any law, or

d)  any other party in respect of whom the person who furnished the Personal Data consented, expressly or impliedly, to HOME’s disclosure of such Personal Data.

3.4   Subject to the applicable law in force from time to time, and to these terms and conditions, HOME will take reasonable steps to protect Personal Data from unauthorised disclosure. 

3.5   HOME is not responsible for the privacy practices of websites operated by third parties to which this website may contain links.

3.6   Consent for the use of Personal Data may be withdrawn at any time by written notice given to HOME.


4.   Law and jurisdiction

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore, and any disputes relating to or arising out of these terms and conditions shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
