Mother From Afar
When I bid goodbye
My eyes filled with sorry and tears
Holding a passport for success
And bringing a luggage of hope
“I will be back soon” words that I did
not fulfill
Until now I’m here in foreign land
digging and providing their needs.
Sacrificing to be far from them and
Securing their future ahead
Seeing them under someone cares
while I’m taking care others is heart
breaking
I wish I’m there to fulfill my
motherly duties
To witness their growing up journeys
Their downfall and how they rise
To be their defender not misjudged
To be their protector not bullied
To be their friends and hearing them
without prejudice
To be their confidant
without judgment
Being a mother from afar is not an easy job
Wounded, bruised, aching bones, but
nothing hurts more than a longing
heart
Our sacrifices is incredible and
incomparable
Being physically there with them is
not a measurement of how good we
are as a mother
Distance can’t measure the love, care
and sacrifices we had
Seeing them beautifully grow
Worth all the tears and sweat I lost!
I am a mother of my proud daughters and that keeps me going!
